Digital assets and objects available in Metaverses are generally in the form of NFT’s, which highlights the key difference between the Metaverse, and general virtual reality - users in the Metaverse have actual ownership over their assets, which is possible thanks to web3 technology.

Being a mesh of the virtual and physical world, Metaversal spaces are created using a combination of advanced technologies, such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and web3 tech, and are accessible through a myriad of different devices, from VR headsets to smartphones or laptops.

Once inside the Metaverse, you can interact with your peers and your environment through the use of virtual avatars, which generally are customized to represent the user's real-life appearance or can be completely different, allowing free reign for self expression.
